Who is Vincent Price?

Well I'll tell you. He is an early 1900's Hollywood actor, mainly horror. I mean come on people! He is in the original House of wax for heavens sake. You might also recognize him from The Fly, House on Haunted Hill, The Three Musketeers, Edward Scissorhands, The Last Man on Earth, an episode of The Muppets Show, a reference in Scooby Doo, Tim Burton's short Vincent,  an archeologist on the Brady Bunch, and in the old Batman television series. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked, "Who is Vincent price?" He was a an amazing horror actor, that's who!! Unfortunately he passed away in 1993, when I was only 2, from emphysema, but he did accomplish many great things, like graduating from Yale, and his long list of horror films. If you haven't seen Tim Burton's animated short, Vincent, on youtube, then YOU MUST!

Poetry Time

Winchester House

Sarah Winchester lost both her husband and child, and was left with millions of dollars. Which in the 1800's, was more than enough money to survive alone. Sarah and her family had believed that they were being haunted by spirits, and she thinks that lead to her husband's death. So, she saw a psychic, and she told her that the spirits would be after her next! And that she would have to build a magnificent house for the them in order for her to be unharmed. Most people believe that she was just going nuts from the loss of her family, but I believe in Sarah. She decided to move far west, to Santa Clara Valley, and hire tons of carpenters to help start building this house. Supposedly, she would did nightly seance's to help her figure out the way she should build the house, and that's how she came up with idea of the maze. This seven story house is now known as "the house built by the spirits."  The labyrinth  concept is to get the ghosts lost, so they could never find Sarah. She made it too complex with stairs that lead nowhere, buttons that make walls turn, and all kinds of traps! It is now a place where you have to pay to see it, and they have wicked haunted tours. This house is somewhere I would love to visit someday, and even spend the night :) I love this stuff hahaha

Picnik.com, the best online photo editor ever, is sadly closing down on April 16, 2012. Luckily they are sweet enough to let all premium photo effects be free until that takes into effect!!! I gave you guys an example of Kevin Smith, aka silent bob, and a photo I edited of him, using the Halloween features :)

Horror Style Music feat. Michael

       Hey! My name is Michael Traxler, and I'm here to talk about a couple bands that I love. First off, let me start with the type of genre this music consists of. Now there are many different genres people call it: death metal, hardcore, grindcore, screamo, heavy metal etc. You can't really place a band into one specific genre for there are so many people categorize them in. One of the bands that I enjoy listening to is Dr. Acula. They have changed and progressed into something I wouldn't have recognized if I didn't listen to them when they were first getting started. From their first album Chillogy to their newest album Slander they have changed, as all bands do. Dr. Acula started with a grindcore sound. Which consists of pig squealing & frying, and then over time transgressed into heavy break downs and just a more brutal sound. I've always loved that band even from the very moment I first heard them play and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

     I also respect and enjoy listening to Black Dahlia Murder. What I love most about this band is that they keep it original by not using electronic sounds or warping their screams, unlike these newer generation bands. I'm not saying they are bad or anything, I do enjoy their music but it's always nice to listen to a band that plays this kind of music when it first began. So that being said, I hope you find these bands and the music they produce interesting! Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it :)

Creature Feature

This film is as old as dirt! I like to think of it as Gilligan's Island gone wild hahaha just the characters personalities and the feel of the film really reminds me of that show! Its about these scientists searching for animals and fossils in the Amazon River, and they come across a monster that is living in the lagoon. He just wrecks havoc on these guys, and gobbles most of 'em up. If you like classic movies or horror, then this is a great movie for you :)

R.L. Stine

The ever famous man Robert Lawrence Stine, and his love for scaring children is the topic today! He is the author of the 165 Goosebumps Novelia and TV series. If you've never picked up one of these little delights in your childhood, then you were very deprived! I have read them all in 4th and 5th grade, and even as an adult they still entertain me. My favorite one is Piano Lessons Can Be Murder........ R. L. Stine is my hero! He is the reason why I love the whole horror and creepy feel. Mostly because he laughs at every scary movie, just like me! I can't take them seriously anymore hahaha. He works opposite of most authors, by working his stories off of creative book titles. Robert claims he never gets writers block. He outlines every book chapter by chapter, and even makes character charts with personalities and everything! Stine says he has never witnessed any paranormal activity in his life yet, but he never quits looking :) I hope this witty and creepy man has inspired one of you, like he has done for me my whole life. My Top Ten

Hello Everyone! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Chantel Shearer, and I am a huge fan of horror. My reason for loving it at first was simple, I just loved feeling scared. I've never been attracted to bloody or plain suspense horror films as a kid or even as an adult. My kind of horror-flicks are psychological and creepy , but they're harder to come across. I know what you're thinking! "What's my favorite scary movie and why" right?! Well if you must know, it's Silent Hill. The reason being that it scared the pants off of me when I was sixteen, and at that age I had already thought that there was no movie scary enough! I have been told that my obsession with horror is illogical and unhealthy. Just for the reasons being that they are violent and might possibly corrupt me to be evil. I have been watching scary movies since the fifth grade continuously, and I am still one of the sweetest girls I know. It all started with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), and since then I've been hooked. I picked them out for sleepovers, family movie nights, and even to watch by myself. They make my mind work more artistically and logically honestly. As much as I Iove this genre, they are still unfortunately some of the cheapest and low quality films made.

Blockbuster Mayhem

I was trying to watch Dead Silence online the other day, but no luck finding it :/ So i decided to be impatient with my Netflix and drive straight to the nearest Blockbuster! Supposibly they aren't making enough money and are closing down. Nevertheless, everything was on sale! I ran straight over to the old horror section and picked up the last Dead Silence and Let Me In, and got both for a grand total of $8!!  I have already seen the ventriloquist movie as a kid, and love it! Let Me In on the other hand is surprisingly good, if you like romantic vampire movies that is.
