Winchester House

Sarah Winchester lost both her husband and child, and was left with millions of dollars. Which in the 1800's, was more than enough money to survive alone. Sarah and her family had believed that they were being haunted by spirits, and she thinks that lead to her husband's death. So, she saw a psychic, and she told her that the spirits would be after her next! And that she would have to build a magnificent house for the them in order for her to be unharmed. Most people believe that she was just going nuts from the loss of her family, but I believe in Sarah. She decided to move far west, to Santa Clara Valley, and hire tons of carpenters to help start building this house. Supposedly, she would did nightly seance's to help her figure out the way she should build the house, and that's how she came up with idea of the maze. This seven story house is now known as "the house built by the spirits."  The labyrinth  concept is to get the ghosts lost, so they could never find Sarah. She made it too complex with stairs that lead nowhere, buttons that make walls turn, and all kinds of traps! It is now a place where you have to pay to see it, and they have wicked haunted tours. This house is somewhere I would love to visit someday, and even spend the night :) I love this stuff hahaha
